The November 2026 election will be midterms, possibly the MOST important statewide election. Prior to the general midterm election, Democrats voted in a March primary election to choose the Democratic candidates. For any race where a candidate did not receive 50+% of the vote, there is a runoff between the candidates with the two highest numbers of votes.

Who Can Vote in the Texas Democratic Primary Runoff?
Texas has open primaries but you may only vote in one primary. Any registered voter who did NOT vote in the Republican primary is allowed to vote in the Democratic primary runoff and vice versa.
